Cruise Cabin Door Decoration – Part Two

My 50th birthday cruise was a few weeks ago, and it was so much fun!! I discussed part one of my cruise cabin door decoration here. However, I never did get to show you the full completed door decoration, so I had to make sure I share.

The numbers/letters part of the door decoration was made using the Future Font foundation paper piecing pattern by Antony Perring. He sells the pattern in his Etsy store here.

Here’s my hubby holding up the cabin door decoration pre-quilting.

My placement of the letters weren’t perfect, but I am extremely pleased with how the entire piece came out! I knew that I just didn’t have time to figure out some kind of intricate or custom quilting for the piece, so I kept it simple with an overall loopy meander for the quilting.

The rules for placing decorations on cabin doors said I could use command strips. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it worked!! At first it felt like it might not stick, but it stayed up the entire time!

We had an amazing time on the cruise. We hadn’t been on vacation since before the pandemic, and we haven’t been on a cruise since our 5th wedding anniversary, 5 years ago!

Here’s some fun pictures from the cruise.

Thanks for reading my latest blog post! Be on the lookout next week. I am currently in the planning stages of a quilt along for 2024!

Happy Quilting!
