I initially took a break from blogging for the summer. Obviously, my break lasted a teeny tiny bit longer than I expected! As I’m sure most quilters, crafters, crocheters, and just about anyone else can understand, life just got in the way for the past few months. However, I knew I couldn’t let International Women’s Day pass without a blog post. And I have many more planned every week!
There are so many women who have helped me in my quilting (and embroidery) journey. More than I could have ever imagined would help me, and more than I’m sure I deserve. So many women who have helped nurture my creativity, bought my creations, recommended me to friends and family, and even some who have gifted me the tools to help me continue to create.
I had never even sewn two pieces of fabric before March 2020! In the last 5 years, I have met so many women who have helped that I could never name or thank them all individually. But today is a great day to thank them all at once!
Thank You!
There are a few that I do want to recognize individually. First isn’t really a woman, but a company that has many amazing women working for them. The Grace Company! If it wasn’t for their innovative take on at home quilting, I never would have purchased my first Cutie frame. I knew I couldn’t push and pull my quilts through my tiny sewing machine throat forever. I just wasn’t sure how else I was going to finish my quilts. Then I heard about the Cutie frame and it was like the heavens opened and a ray of light shined down on my quilting room!
Second is a woman owned business, Sweet Pea Embroidery. In March of last year my amazing friend Xan gifted me an embroidery machine. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what I would use it for. I didn’t see myself making shirts or hats with embroidery on them. Then I found Sweet Pea! I’ve always been a handbag fanatic, and with Sweet Pea I can make my own!!! Mind blown! I’ve made a lot of beautiful bags over the last year, and even some cute wall hangings too.
Both of the companies I’ve mentioned treat their customers like family, and have such caring customer service and sales reps. I’m lucky to have stumbled upon them both.
My Mom!

The one woman I think of every Women’s Day is my mom. Not only did she raise 3 smart, sassy, yet compassionate women. She was such a strong woman herself. She taught me so much, and although she is no longer with us, I think she would be proud of the woman I am today.
I hope you had a good Women’s Day and that you told the women in your life how much they mean to you! Thank you for reading my blog!
